"I DID IT. I HAD TO'

Americans..... people living in America, constant need for guns and so on.... military and weapons.

A few days ago ANOTHER student gunman has decided to kill student at school and then taking his own life. Why... Reports claim he was angry at the rich and snobbery of students in the classes.

I just why does these rogue students not pop up anywhere else in the world, but in America. Is it pure coincidence? Is it down to the film industry attempting to pump more guns and ammunition into films to create more exciting. Michael Moore also a few years made a film about how easy it is to own a gun in America... Why have americans let this law being passed.

Of course I dont live there, and i dont plan to live there, but it seems stupid the amount of gun related crimes that occur in the USA. It also makes me curious to the fact that all american teen comedys about a school form around groups of students being segregated into superiors and inferiors. Class war seem to be a popular culture in america.... Should the government try and attempt to target these groups. These are the groups you can see in such films as American Pie, Mean Girls, Breakfast Club, Loser....

Ah maybe this is just a pointless rant, not going anywere extremely specific... Comment back and I can argue how silly an american can be?

P.s I know the student gunman was also not born in America :-)

No Poker in Collges

The largest poker tournament was held in Ireland last week and the winner was an Irish man Marty Smyth who picked up the 650,000 Euro cheque. He fought off fierce competition from 2 of the world’s best players Roland de Wolfe and Sorel mizzi. The game had been played over 3 days with roland de wolfe and sorel mizzi both finding time to share the lead in the tournament, but Irish man Marty smyth was confident enough to sit back and wait for his chance. Texas hold’em a game which was brought into Ireland many years ago from America. Last year in DKIT college in Ireland a member of the student society decided to create a poker club but this was not allowed as the college did not want to promote gambling. In my opinion this is stupid. Poker is a game all about probability, good thinking, right judgment and making calls at the right time and all with a little bit of luck, but doesn’t every sport have the same things. In football you have to rely on the other 10 members of your team to be successful. The internet has also cause a huge explosion in regards to poker. Online poker sirs such as pokerroom.com and fulltitltpoker.com have help the poker society grow by allowing people to get chips to play for free, or to play with real money Although years ago a lot of poker was played with money against other money. Nowadays you can buy in for a tournament for 20 Euro and get a certain amount of chips. This means that all the players have the same amount of chips, and a winner is declared when one player receives all the chips Students should be allowed to form a poker club as it is an excellent way to use your brain. Better than spending 20euro in a bar on alcohol… losing your brain!

Future Changes.....

It is been ever increasingly important to look out for the changes in our society that happens daily, weekly and yearly. The world is an ever expanding junkyard of non resolve and this is a major factor when taking into account the expansion of the internet in todays world. For example who would have thought we could type live words to another person at any point if the world 20 years ago.

The internet still is not available everywere in the world but we are getiing there. Personally the internet has become much more of a local source of communication for me. It offers me tools such as msn messenger, yahoo messenger, aol messenger, trillian, fusion messenger over the years and this has been an important change in my existence I believe.

These programs were designed for a more of a live contact form then email to your far side of the world counter parts, but now for me they are a neccesity with conversation with my friends on the same street. Webcams have also been in demand as they can give a live view of the person you are chatting too…. This is all down to the improvement in internet speeds with the increase of broadband in the world.

In my house now I have broadband, and my laptop works wireless… sometimes I have recognised that writing an email is sometimes a chore…. Finding hotmail account, putting password, making email. Now with msn and fact that my msn is on most times 24/7 in means my close friends can just log onto msn and leave me a message for free

Anyway I predict the world will leave mobile phones, and we will all has msn messenger phones…. What do you think? Or has this change started already with PDA’s and the like

Ryanair flight to space????

Today a russian billionaire return home from space on 18million euro holiday to space. The man Charles Simonyi, a 58-year-old who helped design Microsoft Word and Excel, touched down in Hungary and was greeted with his complimentary green apple which is tradition for any cosmonaut landing in the country

First response to what it was like for the 58-year-old man declared in Russian “the sun is shining. The weather is good” he also added that the first he realised was “the first thing I felt on earth was the smell”.

This was also the man who was responsible for helping to design Microsoft excel.

So in the future now… not so present future is everyone going to be going to the moon to the sea of tranquillity, yes there is a sea there and that is it names…. But I wouldn’t bring your trunks for it

Students now heading Carlingford to the space shuttle take off. (Yes I am sure with Carlingford always being crazy for awards with their tidy towns and stuff they will take on the first space station in Ireland.

The likes of music stars such as Moby and Robbie Williams have already put themselves onto the list of possible going up there (some people believe this could be the best place for the 2 “space cadets”)

Anyway im not sure if I will get to the moon, or space in my lifetime, but im sure if Michael o Leary of Ryanair got his hands on the “Ryanair Space Cheap Flights” he would surely let everyone go…

Can’t wait for those days?

What do you think?

29.99 to the moon? Have I the decimals in the correct place?

Matthews Revolution

The Matthews bus coaches running from dundalk to dublin has been one of the most recent successes in irish industry. The Matthews bus system has managed to create a market from the Dundalk-Drogheda-Dublin route by managing to offer an express from Dundalk to Dublin, and Dublin to Dundalk. This has taken a lot of market from Bus Eireann who used to provide the service from Dundalk to Dublin which would go through many different towns and routes to get to the journey.

Students travelling from Dundalk to Drumcondra can now get there in less that 1 hour 5 minutes, and then for students going to Parnell St in Dublin could arrive there in 1 hour 25 minutes.

Now on my most recent journey to Dublin I noticed that the Matthews were providig two separate buses. One bus direct from Dundalk to Dublin, and the other going via Drogheda. This now further widens the scope for travellers seeking transport from Dundalk and going south. Matthews offers the most comfortable and fastest transport of the road and is extremely reliable.

Another feature of the Matthews service is that any return ticket you purchase from Matthews will not expire. So for example if you go to Dublin on your return ticket and decide on the way home to get a lift in a car with a friend home to Dundalk. And thenn if you ever arrive up in Dublin from a different lift you can use that the previosu return ticket

Matthews coaches is the new revolution in bus transport between Dundalk to Dublin

Modern Love

"Girl meets boy. Girl likes boy. Girl is a single mum. What does she do next? Girl goes to the local police station and asks a question. "I've fallen for this guy. He's great, but I really want to know: is he a paedophile?" What a romantic start to a relationship."

in England a new pilot scheme is being released so that women can find out whether her new boyfriend is on the paedophile register. It has been known in certain cases in england and the world that some men prey on womens affections and become their 'partners' just so they can abuse their children. As we know women who are singles mums can be very easy targets looking to fill that gap in their lives, but some women are arguing they should be able to find out if their current man is a 'baddy'.

im america there is a law called megans law were parents can get address, photographs ane names of paedophiles in their area. sarahs law the english version will not provide as much information but will let you know how many are in the current area. personally i think this is a waste of man power becuse then why shouldnt the government and authorities give information regarding who are the thieves in your area, rapists, gamblers, alcoholics as all these are factors that can effect the youth

The authorities should just keep hush hush and try and keep and eye on these offenders, and not cause vigilante groups to try and deal with these offenders themselves

Man Utd Destroy Roman Army

Tonight in the quarter final of the champions league in Europe, Manchester United were behind 2-1 in the 2nd leg against Roma. In the previous game Man Utd lost their skipper Paul Scholes due to suspension and in a premiership games during the week had players Park and Vidic injured.

This was looking like the of the run of man utd in the champions league. Before the game outside Old Trafford fans were causing trouble further creating tension into this decisive game for man utd

However 11 minutes into the game Man Utd came flying out of the blocks with 3 goals in the first 20 minutes. United went further on into the game adding 4 more and letting in one goal from a defensive absent-minded Roma to leave the result at 7-1 with the score being 8-3 over both legs.

Graham Taylor says "This will go down in the history books as one of Manchester United's best European performances.

Nobody expected it, and I defy anyone to say that they did"

In the game man utd biggest spend of the summer Michael Carrick also really took to his role and also became a valuable attacker scoring 2 superb goals

"I think Carrick really arrived as a United player in this game and for me, he was United's best player in the first half.

He played his role as a holding midfielder to perfection but he also broke forward to support the attack and his second goal was fantastic" Taylor added

Man Utd now go onto the semi-finals toface either AC Milan or Bayern Munich

DKIT Clamp Meeting

"got dreams, then at dundalk institute of Technology has a place for you".

BUT NOT YOUR CAR

Denis Cummins director of DKIT this week has been hit hard by the college students at protest meering yesterday. Dennis along with 2 other members faced tough questions from students in regards to the clamping issues.

At the meeting some questions were put forward regarding rebates of money, this was stated that this would be impossible. One disgruntled student pointed out that travelling to college by car is cheaper then her in a response to Mr Cummins view that why dont students use the Bus instead! This statement was volleyed back to Dennis by asking did he also commute, but his answer was not a No, but more of a 'i have' but not anymore.

Back to the student who then pointed out her car was a 10 yr old car in which she uses to get to college! In a obvious pre-thought speech which brought about lines such as "sledgehammer tactics", she ended her emotional charge with a view of "what car do you drive". Immediately a cry from the right side of the hall "A Jaguar"! The crowd exploded in rants of laughter and cheers.

Other students asked about the renewable energy plan for DKIT but only to follow their interest by pulling another rabbit of the hat for Dennis by asking if he cared so much about renewable energy and no pollution why is it okay for 50 cars every morning to drive around looking for spaces!!

Not a good day for DKIT
